A Journey Towards undreamt Destination

I came here (Ottawa, Canada) to provide support for offshore team. I reached Ottawa on 18th October 2008. As I am here for supporting Indian team, I need to come on night shifts. My duty starts by Sunday night of EST and ends by Friday morning of EST.

It was on 10th morning, once my work is over, I was going to catch the bus. While going from office cubicle to bus stop, I was astonished by the climate, it was awesome. I had my break fast (you can say dinner of India as well). Before going to bed, I was praying sorry crying to my Lord, Jesus Christ "O Lord! I am here for 4 months, but I didn't go anywhere. People are saying, Niagara is very much worth to see. It is one of your creation. I want to see that Lord, but no one is giving company (I didn't ask anybody, but the situation was like so), I am going to miss that. ok Lord, let your will will be done". thats how I was praying (crying) to my Lord. Then I slept. I went to bed by 3.00 pm (EST), ie 1.30 am(IST). Around 7.30 pm (EST), one of my friend (chinna Babu) came and woke up me, he said "Coming week end we are going to Niagara, be prepared, we have booked the tickets for you too". I couldn't believe myself as I was sleeping. I was thinking, 'is it any dream or what?' Just before going to bed I was praying for this. I didn't expect such a immediate response. It was true. They had the plan to go by 14th morning and returning by 15th night.

14th Feb came, as we had planned we prepared ourselves for the journey. Friday night itself we prepared egg curry. Other room guys prepared rice and other stuff (plz don't think any hot drinks), they had bought many junk foods.

Our Journey started from Bayshore, Ottawa, when the clock ticked at 9 o'clock. It was quiet far journey. We were going going keep on going. Our itinerary was like follows 1.Toronto Casa Loma 2. CN tower 3. Niagara 4.Toronto Indian street.

As per our itinerary we were going to Toronto. On the way to Toronto, well 70 kms ahead of Toronto we stopped nearby one river to refresh ourselves. There we took some photos. The place was wonderful. But it was all alone place. We had our breakfast in the van itself. Then we started our journey. We reached Toronto by 1.30. Toronto streets/roads are like Bangalore's. Heavy traffic, Many people were roaming on road sides. Car's sirens, full noice. Beggers in Indian style (with a dog). We felt like being in India. Thanks to Toronto city. In our list, first one was Casa Loma, so we rode our cab to Casa Loma. Unfortunately that cab driver was not much aware of Toronto. We went by asking others as one Tamil proverb says "மதுரைக்கு வழி வாயிலே". Somehow we reached Casa Loma.

Casa Loma is century old building. If you want to know more about Casa Loma, I think you can ask our friend 'Google'. He will tell you history & geography about it.

We can see almost entire city from Casa Loma, provided any skyscraper is not there. You can see CN tower as well.

கடந்த வாரம் நானும் எனது நண்பர்களும் கோயமுத்தூருக்கு வேறோரு நண்பனின் சகோதரியின் திருமண வரவேற்புக்கு சென்றோம். பெங்களூரிலிருந்து ஓசூருக்கு கோயமுத்தூர் பஸ்ஸில் சென்றாலும் ஓசூரிலிருந்து கோயமுத்தூருக்கு 'குர்லா' எக்ஸ்பிரஸில் சென்றோம். ரயிலில் செல்லும்போது ஒரு முதியவர் ஒருவருடன் சண்டை போட்டோம், அதை இப்பொழுது நினைத்தாலும் சிரிப்புதான் வருகிறது. காலையில் சுமார் 6.30 மணியளவில் கோவையில் 3'வது நடைமேடையில் இறங்கினோம். அப்பொழுது 4'வது நடைமேடையில் சேரனின் காலி வண்டித்தொடர் இருந்தது. சிறிது நேரத்தில் அதை சுத்தம் செய்வதற்கு எடுத்துச் சென்றுவிட்டார்கள். நாகர்கோவில்-கோயமுத்தூர் வண்டியின் வருகையை குறித்தும், கோயமுத்தூர்-குர்லா வண்டியின் புறப்பாடு குறித்தும் அறிவிப்பு ஒலித்துக் கொண்டேயிருந்தது. சுமார் 7.30 மணியளவில் நாங்கள் கோவை ரயில் நிலையத்தை விட்டு நகர் மண்டபத்தை(Town Hall) நோக்கி நடக்க ஆரம்பித்தோம். அங்கிருந்து கோவை குற்றாலம் செல்ல திட்டமிட்டுருந்தோம். நகர் மண்டபம் செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு உணவு விடுதியில் காலை உணவை சாப்பிட்டோம். நகர் மண்டபத்தில் பேருந்துக்காக காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில் சிவா எங்களுடன் வந்து சேர்ந்தார். சிறிது நேரத்தில் 14-E எனும் தடமிட்ட பேருந்து 'சாடிவயல்' என்னும் பெயர்பலகையுடன் வந்தது. இது புதிதாக விடப்பட்ட பேருந்து (2 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பாக இப்பேருந்து இல்லை).

கோவை குற்றாலம் செல்லும் வழியில் எனதருமை கல்லூரியை (காருண்யா) கண்டு களித்தேன். நான் எவ்வாறெல்லாம் இருந்த கல்லூரி. அதைக் குறித்து புதிய தலைப்பில் கொடுக்கிறேன்.

கோவை குற்றாலம் நுழைவு வாயிலுக்கு சுமார் 10 மணிக்கு சென்றோம். அங்கு நுழைவுச்சீட்டு வாங்கிக்கொண்டு அருவியை நோக்கி நடக்க ஆரம்பித்தோம். செல்லும் வழியில் இருமருங்கிலும் தேக்கு மரங்கள் எழுந்து நின்று எங்களை வரவேற்றன.

அடர்ந்த மரங்களுக்கு நடுவே செல்லும்போது, எங்கே நாங்கள் யானைகளை சந்தித்துவிடுவோமோ என்ற பயம் வேறு தொற்றிக்கொண்டது!!! இருந்தாலும் பயத்தை ஒரு ஓரமாக வைத்துவிட்டு, அசட்டுத்தைரியத்துடன் உள்ளே சென்றோம். பயம் தெரியாமலிருக்க ஒவ்வொரு ஆத்துமாவும் ஒவ்வொன்றாக உளருகிறது. என்ன பேசுகிறோம் என்று தெரியாமலேயே பேசிக்கொண்டு சென்றோம். அருவியை நெருங்கிய பிறகுதான் கொஞ்ச ஆட்கள் வந்தார்கள். செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு பாறை மீது உட்கார்ந்து குரூப் ஃபோட்டோ எடுத்துக்கொண்டோம்.

சென்று அருவியில் நீராடிவிட்டு சுமார் 2 மணியளவில் கோவைக்கு புறப்பட்டோம்.அருவியில் சற்று அதிக நேரம் செலவளித்து விட்டோம். இருந்தாலும் நன்றாகத்தான் இருந்தது. இந்த அருவி நீரின் சிறப்பு என்னவென்றால், உலகிலேயே இரண்டாவது சுவைமிக்க நீர் இங்குள்ளது.
